Sprinkler Fun

Over the weekend, the boys discovered the joys of a sprinkler. I just stood back and watched them play and have such a great time! Everyone was smiling and laughing; it was truly a magical afternoon!

**As you view the pics you may wonder, why aren't they wearing bathing suits? Well, the day before, they wanted nothing to do with the sprinkler (after getting on bathing suits, sunscreen, etc.). So, I had a feeling that it was going to be much of the same. But, no . . . I had no idea that they would LOVE it and get soaked!!!

**Also, please excuse the super high grass. It has since been mowed! :-)

Standing back . . . trying to figure this thing out!

Holden (a.k.a. Mr. Brave, days of being Mr. Cautious appear to be over!) is the first to give it a try!

Let the games begin!

Pure joy! Does it get more fun than this? :-)

Saturday is Fun Day!

We had a great Saturday full of fun!

Saturday morning:
We took the boys to a Putt-Putt Family Fun Center to "play" some video games and enjoy the huge outdoor climber. They had a blast!

Quinn's tickets and prizes . . .

Can you tell that it was hot yesterday!?!

Saturday night:
Charlotte, a dear friend of mine from college, invited us to her mom's surprise 65th birthday party. Her mom, Mary Ellen, is a super cool lady beloved by all of us Meredith girls! We thoroughly enjoyed the backyard birthday bash!

Beach Trip - Part 5 (the finale)

Today's post: Our "photo shoot" on the beach!

The final night of vacation, we got dressed (in our coordinating outfits) and headed to the beach for some pictures. I have always loved seeing beach pics of other families, so we thought that we would give it "a shot" (ha, ha!).

Jaclyn and Elizabeth came with us. Jaclyn was kind enough to take the pictures, and Elizabeth's job was motivating the boys to look at the camera and smile. I thought that they did a great job!

We were able to get 2 pictures of everyone looking at the camera and smiling (or at least not frowning!). I'll call it a success!!!

Look at the love between these two (Quinn and Elizabeth) . . .

How sweet!

So, as you can see from all of these posts, we had a terrific time. Can't wait until next year!

Beach Trip - Part 4

Today's post: Miscellaneous pictures of the week!

A shaving lesson for Quinn . . .

*He loves "shaving" like Daddy. Don't worry . . . it's totally safe. Brant lathers him up and "shaves" with the back of the razor! It makes Quinn feel super cool!

Hanging out around the house . . .

A trip to the ice cream parlor . . .

Beach Trip - Part 3

Today's post: Cape Hatteras, the pool, and the hot tub!

We took a day trip to Cape Hatteras to see the famous lighthouse . . .

Well, the lighthouse was fun to see/run around for about 20 minutes. After that, the kids were getting restless.

Yes, this is our family picture in front the historic landmark. Doesn't Quinn look happy? Ha!

Included in our rental was a YMCA membership. So, we were able to visit their super cool outdoor pool/splash area. The kids had a blast!

The kids were playing so hard that no one would stop to look at me for a picture!

"Hey Quinn, look at me!" See . . .

Let's try this again . . . "Hey guys, look at me!" Ha, ha!!!

Our house had a hot tub, and we let the big kids (Quinn and Elizabeth) get in for short periods of time. We were able to control the temperature and keep it cool enough for some fun!
