Eat More Chicken

Just a couple of pictures from the Chick-fil-a Spirit Night for the big guys' school:

Mr. Fletch was also there, but he was way too busy socializing and eating ice cream to pose for pictures! Ha!

Go Pack

Last night's game was exciting, nail-biting, thrilling and ultimately painful! There were grown men in tears, and Brant may or may not have been one of them!

It's extremely hard to lose by 1 point in overtime, but we were mighty proud of our Pack!

Winter Break Fun

Last Friday, the big boys were out of school for Winter Break (last Thursday was a weather make-up day). We decided to meet some school buddies at Defy Gravity, and all 3 of my fellas had an AWESOME time. What a great way to burn some energy on a cold, rainy day! :-)

Valentine's Parties

Because of all the snow days last week, the boys' Valentine's Day parties were postponed. Quinn and Holden celebrated with their school buddies on Monday, and Fletch finally had his turn on Tuesday. They were all excited to get their sweet treats!

Some School Pics

Holden's "Top Dog" bulletin board in his classroom for his special week:

Quinn's classwork paper that I discovered in his folder:

*So happy that 7 year old Q thinks I'm awesome; wonder how 17 year old Q will feel one day? I may need this picture for evidence one day! ;-)

More Game Time

The snow days brought more time for family board games. The boys are still LOVING Battleship. Holden still feels the need to dress in costume each time, and he prefers his partner to wear combat accessories as well! ;-)

His brothers prefer pajamas, accessorized by Fletch's favorite fireman's hat and Q's armful of rainbow loom bracelets!

Snow Day . . . again!

Well, it looks as though the groundhog was right . . . MORE WINTER!!!

The boys' school released yesterday at 11:30, and the snow started around noon. Brant started for home at 1 and finally made it 4 hours later! This snow storm was fast and scary.

We've been trying to make the most of it and enjoyed some snow fun this morning. The boys weren't super eager to play outside; we didn't make it out until almost 11. Once out, we had a great time. They played for an hour and a half or so. It's a wet, slushy snow, with lots of rain/sleet/mix.

The town plowed our street at 1:30am, so there was no sledding. But, we did have fun throwing snowballs and making snowmen.

Just got the call that school is canceled again tomorrow. Hurry spring . . . we're ready for you!!!

Awesome Monster Box

Quite possibly the greatest idea and time saver ever?

The pre-made Valentine boxes and decoration kits at Target!

My friend Kristy told me about these fabulous boxes and supplies. With $7 and 10 minutes of work, Holden's "monster" Valentine box for Kindergarten was completely adorable and completely DONE! Yay!

A Sore Thumb

Mr. Q had quite a Monday morning! I dropped the boys off in the carpool line, saw that they were safely walking in, and then drove off. Little did I know that just a minute later Quinn would be shutting his thumb in the door to the school.

I was halfway home when I got a call from his teacher with all the details. From what I hear, he was a trooper. He was taken to the nurse's office and given an ice pack. I was told that he was fine and that he would stay and make it through the day (with help from classmates and his teacher - he hurt the thumb on his writing hand).

I had to check him out for myself, so I decided to come to lunch. Here's my little trooper and his buddy Evan:

And, here's my crazy Fletch:

***All those birth order studies that say the baby of the family often ends up being the clown/comedian, doing whatever they can to get attention? Yep, this baby's definitely evidence of that! Ha!

Winter Court

We survived another crazy day of mascot duty for Mr. Holden; last Friday was Winter Court day at WCA.

He started the morning with the high school Winter Court chapel (following a 7:30am practice).

He ended the day with the Winter Court basketball game and presentation (with pictures afterwards, ending around 10pm).

The game was fast paced and exciting. We played Ravenscroft and lost by 2 points. NC State great Chris Corchiani was there; his son plays for Ravenscroft. He was quite loud and vocal about the officials' calls during the game. It was entertaining to watch!

Holden was a real trooper through the whole day of festivities. However at the end of the night, this pic probably best sums up his thoughts about the whole experience! Ha!

*Big thanks to Mama Carol for helping with Q before and after the game. We knew that it would be a late night, so we had a sitter (a youth from church) come play with Fletch and put him to bed.

**The mascot experience is a big time commitment, but Holden's having a ball with it. The seniors (especially the boys) are SO VERY nice to him. They always give him a lot of attention and make him feel special; he thinks that they are super cool! What a great group of teenagers! It's been heartwarming to witness! :-)
