***This pic also documents the beginning of our downstairs home remodeling project. It'll take place over the next 2 months, done in shifts. Right now, we're working on the stairs, electrical projects, and having the kitchen cabinets painted. The whole downstairs will be painted later in May/June. Bye-bye to the 1980's stained wood trim! Yay!!!

Holden played great and scored 3 goals! As you can see, Coach Brant is heading up Team Patience once again. Their game was at 10:50. It started raining in the 2nd period, and it was raining steadily by the end.

Q's game was scheduled for 1:50. The head of the league made the call to cancel due to rain and field conditions. He was pretty bummed. Here's hoping for our next game day to be a dry one!

Super Saturday

Over the weekend, we had the annual "Super Saturday" at the big boys' school. It's a day full of rides, games and food. So, of course, it was also full of fun! :-)

Sleepover Fun

Quinn decided not to have a birthday party this year; he wanted a sleepover instead. Since this was our first one, we started with just 1 friend . . . his best school buddy, Tyler. We brought him home with us Friday after school.

It went so well; Tyler may have spoiled us! The boys played, ate dinner and treats, and watched a movie. They were asleep by 11 and didn't wake up the next morning until after 7.

I didn't want to be embarrassing ole' mom and take lots of pictures. I managed to get a quick one to text to Tyler's mom at bedtime, and I snuck one during movie time. ;-)



Holden and Fletch were excited to have Tyler over, too. I don't know how many times I heard "Hey Tyler, watch this!" We decided to let them have a little sleepover, too. Fletcher slept on the floor in Holden's room. It was a fun Friday night for all 4 boys! :-)

Q's 9th Birthday

Today was Q's final birthday in the single digits! He was SUPER excited to celebrate . . . all day long! :-)

We started with presents (a Razor scooter, guitar clip, and new guitar) and chocolate chip muffins.





We celebrated with donuts for his class at lunch; he chose Tyler to eat with us.





After a dinner of pepperoni pizza, we picked up Mama Carol and went out for Menchies' frozen yogurt. Yes, another sweet treat! Ha!

The Letter "U"?!?

This week was Fletcher's turn to bring home and fill the Alphabet Basket for his preschool class. We did "f" in the fall. We were given "u" this time. "u"?!? Fill the basket with items that begin with the letter "u"?!?


Hmmm . . . it was a little tricky, but we were up to the task. Thank goodness for being able to draw such things as "up" and "under"!

***I vetoed the idea of sending in a pair of underwear; I'm not sure that would have been appropriate! Ha!

Saturday Birthday Celebrations

We had a BIG day of birthday celebrations on Saturday. We started with a birthday lunch for Brant and Quinn with Mama/Papa Quinn. Isn't Quinn cute in his festive sombrero? ;-)




We ended the day with a 40th birthday party for Brant at Natty Greene's. We had around 70 guests; it was such a fun, special time! It was so neat to walk around and catch up with Brant's high school, college, work and church friends. We are truly blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives!

2 More Things

#1 - Birthday gift and card time with Daddy before leaving for Great Wolf Lodge on Monday morning.





#2 - The big boys were out on spring break, but Fletch still had preschool (Wed and Fri). Q took over my "lunch note" duty those days. What a sweet big brother!

Spring Break Fun (2)

When your 40th birthday falls during your kids' spring break, what does a good daddy do? He takes one for the team and spends his big day at Great Wolf Lodge! Hahaha!

This trip was the boys' spring break surprise. When we loaded up the car and took off on Monday morning, they had no idea where we were going. Believe it or not, Fletch was the one to figure it out (about 2 hours into the drive). They were all VERY excited with the surprise and loved every minute of the fun!
