Park Pics

Don't you love it when friends take cute pictures of your kids and then send them to you?

*Thanks to Holland for the pics from the MOPS park playdate! :-)

Q is for Quesadillas

Tomorrow is a tasting party in Quinn's class; they are wrapping up a unit on the 5 senses. The kids are supposed to bring in a food that starts with the first letter of their name (first or last). I told him that we were up for the challenge and that we would do "Q". Quinn had his heart set on quail; it took some convincing that quail was probably not the best choice. You know . . . because of the whole hunting/cleaning/cooking thing! Ha!

After a quick google search (my mind went blank - thank goodness for google!), we found some other Q foods: quinoa, quiche, queso, and quesadillas. After checking the pantry and refrigerator, we went with easy and delicious. We chose quesadillas! ;-)

Look who came running and saying "cheese" when he saw the camera!

Getting Organized

My adorable helper and I . . .

have been working hard to organize this little 4 x 4 foot entry from our garage. It's such a small space, but we now have room for the boys' shoes, bags, coats and school papers.

We're both pretty pleased with how it turned out! ;-)

Fletcher Turns 2!

Well, our baby turned 2!!! I really can't believe it! Fletcher is such a sweet boy. His absolute favorite things in the world? His big brothers, choo-choos, and firetrucks . . . in that order! This big guy has completed our family; we all love him SO VERY much!

We celebrated his big day with a trip to Great Wolf Lodge. All of our boys LOVE the water; we knew that it would be a great time!

Although Holden and Fletcher were a little too short for a couple of the waterpark rides, there was still plenty for them to do. Most places were accessible as long as they were with an adult. Q could do all but one ride.

Pajama story time with the characters:

The big boys were fascinated by the magic wands and Magic Quest (medieval scavenger hunt for kids). After paying $17 per wand (outrageous, I know!), we did not pay extra to actually do the quest. We just let them run around, wave their wands, and unlock the clues that they could find. They didn't seem to mind! ;-)

Wolfpack pride!

The boys on the ride home today . . . looks like a successful trip to me!
*On the way home, we had a flat tire on the interstate. We were about 30 miles from home. Luckily we were in a safe area, and AAA got to us quickly. Also, there was a WalMart with a tire center close by. The whole surprise adventure added another hour and a half to our journey home. Thankfully it's all over; we're happy to be home safe and sound!

"I Know Him!"

While at Marbles yesterday morning, we ran into Hayden (and his mom & little brother). Hayden is one of Holden's preschool buddies. When we were leaving, Holden told me that playing with Hayden was his favorite part of the outing! Too sweet!

Hayden even let Fletcher wear his hat!
*Thanks to Jennifer (Hayden's mommy) for the pictures! :-)

JOY Ticket

Guess what came home in Q's folder today? A "Joy" ticket! YAY!
Q's teacher uses "Joy" tickets on really great days and "Oops" tickets on really bad days. With his teacher's high expectations, we are SUPER proud of his "Joy" ticket and the fact that he hasn't gotten an "Oops" ticket! YAY!

I have found out that her discipline system is a 1, 2, 3 system. With the first offense (1), you lose part of recess. A "2" has you picking up trash during recess, and "3" means that you lose all of your recess time. She runs a tight ship, but I kind of like it. Q did get to "1" on the second day of school for talking (NOT a surprise), but it hasn't happened again! Losing part of your recess is a pretty effective discipline technique for my big guy! ;-)

Random Fun Pics

Brant and I had a super fun time with our friends, the Foushees, at the Alan Jackson concert last Friday night. Koka Booth is such a great venue!

Quinn got a MUCH needed hair cut. Doesn't he look COOL?

Lately Holden has been choosing to stay with us during worship, instead of going to children's church. He likes to either sit in my lap and cuddle or sit on the floor and color.

Anything cuter?

Anything cuter than a little boy in footie pajamas?

I think not!

Quinn at 7am yesterday (with Holden):

Quinn at 7pm yesterday:
*He said that day 2 was "wonderful", he "LOVED" it, and his teacher is "nice". He was just COMPLETELY exhausted!!! He was in bed and asleep by 7:30pm!

Park Fun

Today was Quinn's first full day of school. I knew that we would miss him (8am-3pm is a LONG time!), so we decided to get out of the house and have a little fun. We distracted ourselves with the train,

the boats,

the carousel,

and the playground!

Holden and Fletcher were so good and sweet. We did have fun, but we are all counting down the minutes until carpool! ;-)
