We were braced for a big snow storm, but we got very little snow. We ended up with a lot of ice instead! We lost power (for a few hours Friday night) and quite a few tree limbs. It was scary (especially for the time that Brant was flying from CA - he made it home at 5am on Saturday), but we're very thankful for safety and for life to return to normal.
Damage to the trampoline:
Lots of pajama time:
Getting some fresh air, hiking in the woods behind our house:
Sunday NFL time (Fletch and Holden's Patriots lost but Q's Panthers won):
Fletcher's "heart":
Parents were given a HW assignment to decorate a heart for our preschooler's February bulletin board. I filled Fletcher's with some of his favorite things! :)
Getting this picture while Fletch was at preschool? Yes, it was a bit of a surprise! Hahaha!
***Today was "Wacky Wed", which explains the pajamas. It was also an in-house animal field trip day, which explains the corn snake! ;)
We just got home from a fun weekend in Boone with our friends, the Foushees. We tubed . . . we skied . . . & we froze!!!
We headed up on Saturday. After checking into the hotel, we grabbed a quick lunch and went to Hawks Nest for snow tubing.
Out for dinner at Macado's:
Our Sunday was spent at Appalachian Ski Resort. Since it was the boys' first time skiing, we enrolled them in ski school. They all learned a lot and were real troopers! An added bonus? Our friends, the Lails, were there that day too. Quinn really loved skiing with Siena after ski school. They were sweet friends!
Kristy and I decided to be cool moms and ski too. It had been at least 10 years for both of us, but it was a lot like riding a bike . . . it really does come back to you! :)
This is STEM (science, tech, engineering and math) week at the big boys' school. Holden is especially loving all the cool STEM projects. His teacher emailed pictures of Monday's activity. Looks like fun! :)
The boys are playing basketball this winter. It's the first time playing for Fletch and Holden. They're both really learning, improving and having fun!
Of course, Fletcher's just happy to run around and celebrate with snacks at the end. ;)
Q and Holden are on the same team; their division is ages 7-9. It's nice to have 2 boys with the same practice and game times. Next year, we'll have 3 different schedules to manage!
"Bring your favorite Christmas present to preschool" day for Fletch. . .
He didn't think twice. It could only be his football helmet! He's planning to show and tell all about his love of the Patriots and his favorite player, Tom Brady! :)
On Monday, we celebrated Holden's birthday at school. His teacher brought him up front and led the singing. Then, we had donuts. I think that it's fair to say that we've thoroughly celebrated Holden's 8th birthday! :)
Well, Saturday was eventful for sure! Brant took the boys out for the whole day. They went to breakfast, walked around stores, watched basketball at church, played and had dinner with friends.
Why were they out of the house for the whole day? Because of this . .
We discovered a pin hole in an upstairs water pipe. It must have been leaking for a while. We've got water in our walls, floors and ceiling. Thankfully, it's isolated to our entry and the boys' bathroom upstairs. No furniture or belongings have been damaged. We've got everything airing out and are trying to save the flooring. It's a bit of a mess, but it could have been a lot worse. We're taking things step by step and doing our best to stay positive.
I'm a stay-at-home mom of 3 terrific boys (Quinn, Holden and Fletcher). They, along with Brant (my wonderful hubby), are "my boys". The purpose of my blog is to journal and share this adventure of life with all of our family and friends. "This is the day that the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
