Lunch with Daddy

Today was a BIG day at Holden's preschool, Lunch With Daddy. Brant said that they really enjoyed their special time together, the short program with singing, and their yummy hot dog meal (with chips, brownies and Sprite!).




Brant's special gift? A painted frame complete with a Holden-original portrait!


This gem was on the back of the frame. I was laughing out loud AND crying while reading!!! There are so many things that I could say about this, but I'll just let Holden's words speak for themselves! Ha!

The boys have discovered Blues Clues. Fletcher is completely adorable when he asks for "boos coos"!

A Trip To Paradise

Brant and I just returned from his President's Club conference at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, FL. To say that it was completely amazing would be a major understatement. It was certainly a little taste of paradise (and how "the other half" live - ha!).

We lounged by the pool, snorkeled (and even saw a nurse shark!), ate delicious meals, had spa treatments, and met some really interesting people. It was a privilege to attend; Brant and I were very grateful for the opporunity.





















MANY, MANY thanks to Mama Carol for watching the boys while we were gone. They had a fantastic time. Because we knew that they were well cared for and happy, we were able to relax and have a terrific time. Thanks again!

Basketball and Acolytes

Quinn LOVES going to the State basketball games with Brant. He especially loves the intro (with the lights/smoke/"This is our State" video), watching his favorite player Scott Wood, and eating the special treats. His choice of treat on Saturday? Quite possibly the biggest tub of popcorn I've ever seen!

On Sunday, he was an acolyte at church for the second time. He was SO VERY serious and did a great job. We're very proud of our Mr. Q!

A Little Saturday Snow

Last Friday, we had temperatures in the 60's. The very next day? SNOW and temperatures in the 30's!!! Pretty crazy weather . . . but the boys were VERY excited by the change of events!

In the morning, I took Holden and Fletch for sweet treats at Krispy Kreme. That place was crazy busy! Who knew that Valentines Day was such a BIG day for donuts? We got a special heart one for Brant and surprised him at his office.

That afternoon, Q had a Valentine's party at school. It was during Fletcher's nap time; thankfully, Brant was able to go. He said that it was pretty crazy. All of the 1st graders were combined in the cafeteria and served HUGE bowls of ice cream with all the toppings. Just imagine a room full of 6 and 7 year olds all hyped up on sugar! Ha!

Valentines from Holden

Holden came home today from preschool with some extra sweet Valentines (AND lots of sugary treats!).

*He made sure to tell me that the flowers were not real, but that it was okay. This way they will last forever! ;-)

The Letter "H"

Holden's preschool class studied the letter "H" last week. He was VERY excited; he insisted on wearing his "H" shirt to celebrate!

They ended the week with Happy Meals. His teacher is so awesome. She made sure that he got his special order . . . hamburger, plain with extra pickles!

**Side note: Holden has been inspired by his new bed/desk. He has been spending time doing "art". His latest creation:

Game Time

Last weekend, Brant was out of town for a guys' golf trip. Quinn had a basketball game on Saturday morning. Because I had to get the 3 boys there by myself, I was VERY thankful that it was a 9:15 game (most have been 8am). The boys all did great. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday morning! :-)

Marbles Again

Yesterday, I was back at Marbles with Fletch (wearing that same beloved Elmo hoodie - one battle that I just don't want to fight - ha!). But instead of Q, Holden was with us this time. He heard about our fun on Saturday and wanted to go, too. Mama Carol gives us a yearly membership to this awesome children's museum. And with the boys getting older, it's much less stressful to venture there and explore! Yay!

Holden's favorite part? The science station making "worms"!

Fletcher's favorite part? The choo-choos!
