Bball Camp

Q and Holden spent 3 mornings this week at a local church's basketball camp. They had a lot of fun playing, learning, and seeing school friends!

***I was especially proud of Holden this week. This was his first attempt at basketball, and he was one of the youngest kids there. He kept a good attitude and tried his best; he even spent time practicing at home each day. I don't think basketball will pass soccer as his favorite sport, but this camp was a perfect, low pressure introduction for him. :)

Scotty & Rascal Flatts

Quinn and I ended up with 2 free tickets for Sunday night's Scotty McCreery/Rascal Flatts concert at Walnut Creek; a church friend wasn't feeling well and gave them to us. Q was THRILLED, and we had a great time!

Thank goodness for the "family zone" of the lawn! This roped off area was rowdy enough for us! Ha!

Personal Space

In a house full of brothers, sometimes you need to find a little personal space all for yourself! Ha!

***This spot in the kitchen has become Holden's favorite place to do his "technology sessions".

British Soccer

The big boys spent their mornings this week at a British Soccer camp hosted by our parks and rec department. They learned a lot and had tons of fun. They came home each day hot and sweaty . . . and happy! :)

***Q's team (Team Germany) won the World Cup for their age division. Yay!

Basketball Camp

Q (and his buddy Tyler) spent 3 days this week at NC State for the Mark Gottfried basketball camp. He had an awesome time!!! He played HARD and loved all the interactions with the college players.

The afternoon games were "shirts and skins". He liked that his team was always "skins" and said that it was a lot cooler that way! Ha!

Autograph session at the end of camp (and got 2 pictures with Cat Barber - YAY!):

I know for a fact that this camp will definitely be a highlight of Q's summer!

***We were encouraged to stop by and watch the boys play any time throughout the day. Holden, Fletch and I stopped by each afternoon for an hour and a half or so. H and Fletch were such good sports, cheered Q on and kept themselves occupied. Personally, I'm really thankful for that! ;)

"Cow Day"

Oh, the things we do for free chicken:

The five of us ate dinner for free last night! We loved Chick-fil-a's "Cow Appreciation Day" . . . or "Cow Day" as the boys called it!

***Thanks to Brant's office manager for loaning him the costume. The boys thought that it was HILARIOUS!!!

Mountain Adventures - Day 2

Sunday:
We started our morning at Sliding Rock. The water was FREEZING and fast. One trip down was enough for me; Fletch did it 2 times (sitting in Brant's lap each time). Brant and the big boys went down a total of 3 times. Q loved it the best.

After changing and warming up, we drove over to Looking Glass Falls to explore. Afterwards, we made another stop along the Blue Ridge Parkway to hike.

A fun restaurant discovery? Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack. The boys fell in love with their fried chicken and waffles; we ate there both days! ;)

***The boys were real troopers and awesome little travelers. It was a super fun, adventurous little trip! :)
