It was bound to happen, and I'm actually surprised that it's taken this long. With 3 kids, the big boys at different schools with different activities/schedules, and the general busyness of life with sports, church, family, friends . . . I FORGOT PICTURE DAY!!! Oops! It was on my calendar; I simply did not look at it that morning (important lesson learned!).
Let's just say that it was VERY obvious when I walked into Holden's class and saw ALL of the other kids looking so cute and dressed up. This was my child with the Sanitary T-shirt and old play pants:
But in this mommy's opinion, he was still mighty cute! And, no . . . we will not be purchasing these pictures. We'll wait until spring pictures! ;-)

Wish List
Something VERY exciting landed in our mailbox last week, the holiday toy catalog!!!
*Q was a very sweet big brother. He made sure to ask Fletcher if he wanted a toy, circled it, and wrote "F" on each one. Looks like Fletcher wants lots of "choo-choos" for Christmas! ;-)

Fall Festival
Our church's fall festival and trunk-or-treating is one of our favorite annual events. As always, the boys had an absolute blast. They played with friends, ate hot dogs, chips and cupcakes, and got TONS of candy. What a fun night! We are very thankful for our church family!

Fall Hike and Fun
After Holden's T-ball game this morning, we headed to the park for a walk around the trail and some fun on the playgrounds. What a great fall day!
T-Ball
Well, I'm happy to report that T-ball went MUCH better than soccer for Holden! He paid attention, actively participated, and had a great attitude each week. We were very proud of him. Way to go Holden!

Cops and ?
This boy of mine was playing "cops and robbers":
This other boy of mine was playing "cops and . . . okay, I'll be the robber. I'm just thrilled that my big brother wants to play with me!":

The Fair
It may have taken us until the last day of the fair, but we made it! And, as always, it was lots of fun. We ate some tasty butterfly chips and NC State ice cream. We also spent time at the PBS tent,
rode a few rides,
AND, even hopped on a real police motorcycle on the way to the car!

5th Annual Family Halloween Bash
Our annual Halloween party was this afternoon/evening, and it was a great time! It's a lot of work each year, but it's also a lot of fun (enough fun to make us forget the hard work and keep throwing parties!). This year, we had almost 60 folks stop by. Quinn and Holden both said that their favorite parts were "playing with friends" and the super big inflatable slide that we rented for the occasion. :-)
With all the activity, I only got a few pictures. Here's Mitt Romney, Snow White, Vampire, Green Lantern, and Batman:
Thanks to all the friends and family that came to party with us!

SCOTTY!
Last night was the BIG night, the Scotty concert at the NC State Fair!!! My friend, Kristy, was able to find some tickets and came along with us for Q and Holden's first concert.
We started with a sweet treat . . . candy apples!
Then, it was time to head to the show. This was as close as we got to Scotty, a picture in front of the stage before the concert! Ha!
Scotty put on a great show. We identified each song by number. For the record, he sang all the songs from his CD . . . except for #3! ;-)
Holden was so incredibly adorable. He got so excited, held up his hand as a microphone or "played" the guitar, and sang along with Scotty.
Quinn was waiting for his favorite song, The Trouble With Girls (or #4 as we like to refer to it). Scotty sang it toward the end of the show, and Q got very excited!
It was a late night, but a great night! We had an awesome time!

Weekend Mountain Getaway
For Quinn's fall break, we took a trip to the mountains (Seven Devils, NC). We started the trip on Friday with the Blowing Rock. The boys had a great time climbing and exploring. We had a few close calls (and near panic attacks on my part), but we survived the adventure without any injuries! Whew!
The highlight of the trip was Tweetsie Railroad on Saturday. The boys LOVED the wild west train ride, the carnival rides, and the cowboys! It was such a great place . . . clean, family-friendly, and easy to navigate. We had a blast!
The boys bright and early this morning (before our trip home):
Q LOVED the stuffed bear at the mountain house. Any time we were at the house, the bear was on his head. The Indian spear was his souvenir from Tweetsie. He is such a character!!!
