Chapel Award

Today was a BIG day for our Q. He received the Chapel Award for his class. He was very proud of himself. We were extremely proud of him, too! Way to go, Q!

I LOVE his teacher's wording on the certificate; it describes him perfectly! My favorite parts? "full of enthusiasm for living and learning", "fully enjoys his friends", and "big smile and encouraging word to everyone"

Heart For Holden

Brant and I had some homework over the weekend; we were asked to decorate a Valentine's heart for the bulletin board at Holden's preschool. We were supposed to lovingly decorate it in a way to showcase our child. This is what we came up with:

E (enjoys snuggles)
N (NC State fan)
And, of course, we included a picture of Holden in beloved Superman apparel! Ha!

a BIG win

Brant and I were there to see the BIG Wolfpack victory last night! Go Pack!!!

Ice, Ice Baby

It definitely wasn't the BIG snow event that we had been hoping for, but we made the best of today's snow/sleet/freezing rain mix. After getting everyone home safely from school and work, we had some rest time and play time. Then, we bundled up, headed out, and tried some sledding. The wooden sled worked best. The boys LOVED their turns riding with Daddy. Fun, fun, fun!

*Now let's just hope that the roads clear up, and we can get out and about tomorrow.

Wordless Wednesday - Brotherly Love

Go Take a Hike

On Saturday, Brant bundled up the boys and took them for a hike in the woods behind our house. As you can see, they had a blast on their adventure. They hiked for over an hour, and all three of them napped soundly that afternoon (even Q)!

Winterfest

We spent this holiday morning downtown ice skating at the outdoor rink. Brant and Fletcher were there cheering us on and taking pictures of our attempts to stay upright on the ice! Ha!

Q was very independent and cautious. He preferred staying close to the side.

He did let me take him out in the middle a couple of times.

Holden was a bit more adventurous, wanting to "dance" in the middle and go faster and faster!

It was a lot of fun! Fletcher may be big enough to give it a try next winter, if they have skates in his size. I'd love to go at night during the Christmas holiday break; all of the Christmas/downtown lights would make it even more fun and special.

And, they ran into Kenny and Rowan. It's always fun to see friends!

A Snow Day (almost)

Well, we didn't get any snow! Despite the boys' prayers and plans for snowball fights and snowmen, we woke up to a little frost and ice . . . and that's all! I tried to make it up to them with snowman pancakes (with extra chocolate chips and marshmallows). The 2 hour school delay helped their spirits, too! Ha!

After taking Q to school at 10, I took Fletcher for a MUCH needed haircut. Poor guy had a bit of a mullet. Doesn't he look cute . . . and older?

Holden really wanted to stay home from preschool today. Since it was only open for an hour and a half anyway, I let him. He tagged along for a haircut and then lunch and playtime at Chick-fil-A. Not a bad way to spend an almost snow day!

Wacky Wednesday

Today was Wacky Wednesday for Holden's preschool class. He was excited because he could FINALLY wear pajamas to school. He carefully chose mismatched PJs, Superman belt, "work man" vest and KK doughnut hat. He was pretty wacky! Ha!

Never one to be outdone, Fletcher decided that he would be a little wacky too. He wore his knight helmet for most of the morning, which included a trip to Target. We got lots of looks and comments; he was quite a sight! ;-)

Bowling Fun

Holden and I had a blast at Wesley's bowling birthday party yesterday. At home, Fletcher was napping; Brant and Quinn were cleaning the garage. We definitely had a better afternoon! Ha!

It was an early morning (8am) match up. Guess who got their first basket in a game? Yep, that's right! QUINN!

AMAZING GAME!!! Brant almost lost his voice, and my hands were stinging from clapping so much. I still cannot believe it. The PNC Arena was vibrating with excitement!!!
