Kindergarten Farm Day
Today was a fun day in Kindergarten for Holden . . . Farm Day! Fletcher and I stopped by to watch all the festivities which included a candy store, milking a "cow" (named Bernice) and learning about pumpkins and squash. Fun, fun!

H's Boo-boos
Mr. Holden has had a bit of a rough time lately . . . to say the least!
He had a cold and croup at the end of last week. And then over the weekend (while we were at our church's family retreat), he fell and bumped the back of his head. He had to get stitches (well, one BIG stitch) at the local ER. I will be forever thankful that he didn't suffer any lasting head injuires/concussions. But, it was scary . . . that's for sure!
Because of the nasty bump (monitoring him and his activities) and recovering from the cold/croup, I kept him home from school the past 2 days. He was so happy to return this morning and see his teachers and friends. I had lunch with him (and his friend Luke); I just wanted to check in on him and see how he was feeling. As you can see, he's doing just fine!

*He'll get his stitch taken out at the doctor's office on Friday, while Fletcher is having his 3 year check up. One child getting stitches removed and the other one getting shots! Yikes! Prayers (especially for my sanity) would be greatly appreciated!!!

Soccer Photos
Fall soccer season is over, and we are mighty proud of our 2 players. They hustled, had good attitudes and tried their best. And, they both scored multiple goals in games! It was a great season!

*There was an error with Q's individual photo order. We should be getting them soon.
**We're now moving on to basketball for Q and karate for H!

Dancing & A Chickee
Dancing:
Fletcher's signature dance move? He lifts up his shirt and spins around! Every single time! ;-)

A Chickee:
Over our mini fall break, Quinn had an extra credit assignment . . . to make a "chickee". The teacher's instructions? Minimal parent involvement and no bought supplies! Have I mentioned how much I love this teacher? Ha!
After learning what a chickee is (a shelter used by Southeastern Native Americans), Q got to work. His brothers helped him collect supplies around our yard. I only helped by manning the hot glue gun. Here is Q's chickee (and his helpers):

Weekend Pics
Saturday was the BIG race! I was honored to join Maridith's team "Cheers to Chad" (in honor of her brother) in the Tap n Run 4K. We even won the award for the largest team! Yay!
It was a fun afternoon running up and down Hillsborough Street and hanging out with friends. It made me feel like I was back in college (minus the running part - I have NEVER been a runner)! Ha!

Daddy/Fletcher snuggle time on the couch:

Sunday night, Quinn was invited to a friend's Awana group. Fletch and I tagged along with him. Brant had an FPU speaking engagement at a local church. Holden tagged along with him and was treated to a fancy dinner of a taco in a Dorito shell (his choice!)!

State Fair Fun
It's that time of year again . . . time for the FAIR!!!
Pictures from today's fun afternoon/evening at the fair:

Look who we ran into in line for the Ferris Wheel? Holden's soccer buddy BJ and his dad!

Quinn's teacher enters the photography and cooking contests each year. He was determined to find her picture. This year's entry? An "old timey" phone. You know . . . phones like we used when we were kids! Ha!

Weekend Pics
Saturday was my turn to be Brant's "date" to the NC State game. Unfortunately, I didn't bring the Wolfpack any good luck. They lost to Syracuse (24-10). :-(

The big boys and I were at a friend's birthday party on Sunday afternoon. Brant and Fletcher tagged along and did some exploring at the history and science museums in downtown Raleigh.
