Crazy Day Saturday

Saturday morning's soccer games were extra fun and special for 2 reasons. It was "Crazy Day" (crazy hat/hair/socks/etc.), and Mama & Papa Quinn were there to cheer the boys on! :-)

Homecoming Game

Well . . . we survived Homecoming! :-)

It was a super fun and exciting day, but it was also long and exhausting. We're glad that we did it, but we're also glad that it's over and went so well. It was a special day for our family.

We started the evening in the cafeteria with some pictures.

And, then we headed out to the football field. Holden and Sidney did a great job. AND, Holden did not run anyone over in the Gator! Thank goodness!

*The game was at bedtime; we had a babysitter come over and watch Fletcher. Because of Mama Carol, we rarely have to use a sitter. But, it went really well. She was super sweet and said that she even "enjoyed it"! Ha!

Homecoming Day Festivities

Today is the day . . . it's Homecoming!!! :-)

We started the morning bright and early at 7:30 with high school chapel practice.

The practice was immediately followed by the actual chapel and presentation of the Homecoming court and the mascots at 8:15.

Holden's bio:
Parents' and teacher's names,
What he most likes about school - recess and storytime,
Favorite food - steak,
Favorite thing to do/play - Legos and Skylanders,
What he wants to be when he grows up - an astronaut.

After chapel, we headed over to the football field to practice for tonight's half time court presentation. Holden and Sidney will be riding onto the field in our Gator and delivering the flowers and crowns. Oh how I'll be praying that part goes smoothly!!! ;-)

The Homecoming parade was today at 12:30. Holden rode in the truck pulling the Seniors. Quinn's class won the Primary building's poster contest, and they were in the parade too. So fun for both our boys!

And, never one to be left out, Mr. Fletcher thought that watching the parade was super fun. He especially LOVED the firetruck and motorcycles! :-)

3 Pictures

1. Quinn's class made scarecrows to celebrate the beginning of fall. We sent in NC State and monster fabric for the clothes. His scarecrow turned out pretty cute!

2. Last night, I hosted a MOPS Moms' Night Out (dessert and drinks). These wild and crazy ladies partied until almost 11pm . . . on a school night! ;-)

3. An early morning picture of my 4 favorite guys (poor Brant stayed up last night to help me clean up - we were both TIRED this morning!):

Supper Club

Brant and I have been in a supper club with 3 other couples (the Lails, Capps and Rothmans) for 8+ years. We started when we were all newlyweds, and now there are 11 kiddos between all 4 families. We get together once a month and have done all kinds of "themed" rounds (potluck, holidays, movies, countries, take-out & much more).

Right now, we're in the midst of a restaurant round with a "diners, drive-ins and dives" theme. The Lails chose Mecca in downtown Raleigh last Saturday night. It was an interesting place, a bit of a dive specializing in burgers (complete with a Hank Williams, Jr. tribute band playing outside for the Bike Fest crowd!).

There were only little booths and tables, so we split up into guys and girls. Us "girls" were too busy talking to take pictures, but Matt popped over to take a picture of us. It was a fun night out on the town with friends!

This morning . . .

It's been a gloomy, rainy day. Mr. Fletcher and I decided to stay in our pajamas and clean the house. Who needs a maid anyway? I've got this cute guy! And, he's so VERY happy to help! :-)

Brant was scheduled to go to the big boys' school for Fitness Day activities with Holden's class. But because of the weather, it was cancelled. He decided to go for lunch instead. Here's Mr. Holden and his buddy Sadie:

Happy Friday!

Q's Reward

Quinn's been working VERY hard in 2nd grade. His teacher is wonderful; he is learning so much. She also has high expectations and a stringent "tally" system. But, after a couple of talking tallies (not a big surpise!) and a work tally (for turning in the wrong worksheet), he's gotten the hang of it and is doing very well. We are very proud of him!

To celebrate his first sticker (which means 5 consecutive school days of no tallies), he got a Skylanders Giants set. He will not be getting a reward for every sticker; now he has to work to keep the set! ;-)

*His brothers were helping him celebrate his BIG day! Because Q loves Skylanders, Fletch and Holden have decided that they do too! Ha!

AND . . . one last picture of Q taken at lunch today with his buddy Matthew:

Superman

We do love him greatly, but Mr. Fletcher can be quite . . . "strong willed" . . . at times. A sure way to get him upstairs for bath and bedtime? Flying around the house and up the stairs like Superman while humming the theme song! We do what we have to do! Ha!

Happy Monday!

Soccer Saturday

We spent the morning at the soccer fields. Holden's game was at 10. His head coach couldn't make it, and Brant stepped in. It was another great effort by Mr. Holden. We were SO proud of him! He hustled, ran faster than I've ever seen him run, AND he scored a goal!!! Yay!

Quinn's game was immediately after at 11:30. It was a long, hot grueling game. Q had some assists and ran his heart out! Yay to go Q!

Mr. Fletcher was there too, of course. Whenever possible, he was participating and "helping" Daddy! Here he is in the team's huddle, talking some strategy! ;-)

It was a beautiful day for some Upward soccer!
