Halloween Fun

We've had another exciting Halloween! Last night, we attended our church's Fall Festival. The boys loved the bouncy houses, hot dogs, cupcakes and trunk-or-treating with church friends.

Quinn's buddy Palmer (and his family) joined us for the evening . . .

Quinn with Bert & Ernie (Mr. Jonathan and Mr. Eric) . . .

Holden and his friend Lily . . .

*I entered the chili cook-off (with a friend's secret recipe!). My chili didn't win, but I thought that it turned out great. Brant and the boys ate some for lunch. Even Quinn (who usually refuses to eat beef) said that it was "super awesome". I'll have to make it again sometime soon . . . now that I know the "secret". ;-)

Tonight: We've had a very cold and wet Halloween. But, rain or shine . . . my boys trick-or-treat! Big thanks to Brant for taking Batman and Captain America out hunting for candy. There will come a time (much too soon) when the boys are too big/too cool/too old for trick-or-treating. They can't miss a year because of a little rain, right?

Hope that y'all had a very Happy Halloween!

Knights In Shining Armor

Introducing Sir Quinn . . .

& Sir Holden . . .

*Brant bought these knight accessories for the big boys as a special surprise. As you can tell, they LOVED their new "armor"!

Preschool Fall Fun

Today was the Fall Festival at Holden's preschool. Holden and his school buddies had a blast!

Holden and his buddy Wiley . . .

One little girl dressed up like a farmer, and her mom brought their pet chicken Rosie. The kids were all fascinated by her!

And, as always, Mr. Fletcher was there to join in the fun!

Farmer's Market

Last Tuesday was Farmer Day at Quinn's Kindergarten. The kids were supposed to dress like farmers and participate in a Farmer's Market. The room mommies for Quinn's class were responsible for an old fashioned candy store. We supplied penny candy (gum, pixy sticks, etc.). The kids had 10 pennies each and could shop at our store. The other classes ran produce stands and fall food samples (apple butter, honey, etc.). It was all too cute!

Me with my little farmer . . .

Holden (don't ask me what's up with this crazy smile!) and his buddy Sydney ran the cash register . . .

And, Fletcher waved and smiled at all the kids . . .

*Fletch spent 2 hours in that stroller thanks to lots of attention and goldfish crackers. Thank goodness for flexible 3rd children who happily tag along to their older siblings' events! And, thank goodness for schools that welcome younger siblings who have to tag along! :-)

Love-a-Fair

We took Quinn and Holden to the state fair yesterday afternoon. The boys had a blast! We rode rides, watched magicians and musicians, saw the animals, and ate lots of goodies. Big thanks to Mama Carol for watching Fletcher; it was nice to do something extra special with the big boys.

Halloween Bash

We had our annual Halloween party over the weekend. With a house full of friends and family, it was truly a treat!

Nope, Not Yet

Is Fletcher walking? Nope . . . not yet.

But, does this kinda count? ;-)

For now, he is perfectly content to push his car around the house. He also loves to crawl and pull up/cruise. But, his absolute favorite mode of transportation is being carried around by an adoring family member. Considering that he's the baby of the family, there is usually an obliging family member available to do just that!

Tank Top Song

We all know that Holden has a favorite shirt, his beloved Superman tank top . . .

Now, he also has a favorite song. The boys LOVE the new Scotty CD. Track #10 (You Make That Look Good) has "tank top" in the lyrics. They've renamed the song . . . the Tank Top Song. On the way to school/running errands this morning, we must have listened to it at least 6 times. They know when the tank top part is coming, and everybody gets quiet. After Scotty sings "little tank top", we all laugh. Holden just loves his tank top song! :-)

Ticky, Ticky, Ticky

When I tickle the boys, I don't say "tickle, tickle, tickle". For some reason, I always say "ticky, ticky, ticky". We all laugh, and it's good fun. Now, Fletcher pretends to tickle himself and says "ticky, ticky, ticky" too. It's completely hilarious and adorable. He does it often; he knows that it gets our attention and that we love it!

Ticky, ticky, ticky . . .

Ha, ha, ha . . .

Ticky, ticky, ticky . . .

Ha, ha, ha . . .

And . . . I posted this on Facebook, but I wanted to add it to the blog (for my memories). This morning's conversation:
Q: "Mom, I don't have a girlfriend at Kindergarten. I love all the girls. I can't pick just one."
Me: "Well, try to be friends with everybody. You can pick a girlfriend when you're older."
Q: "Like when I'm 19?"
Me: "Yes, that sounds perfect!"

My Lil Southern Boy

Fletcher LOVES grits! And, I'll admit that it makes me proud! ;-)

Bulldogs and Birthdays

Bulldogs: Quinn had a blast at the Homecoming football game. He saw his teachers and a few classmates in the stands. He came home and told me about the marching band and the "real princesses" (the homecoming court) at halftime. Brant spent $12.50 to get in and eat treats. What a nice change from the prices at NC State games! ;-)

Birthdays: Wiley, one of Holden's best buddies, celebrated his birthday last week at preschool. His mommy, Kristy, sent me/posted some cute pictures. Here is Holden with Wiley and Sammy (aren't they cute?) . . .

Of course, Kristy was focused on taking pictures of her own son. But, Holden insisted that she take one of him . . . all by himself. Ha! Thankfully, she agreed and sent me the cute pic. Thanks Kristy! ;-)
