And just like that . . . the 2013-2014 school year is done! Hello summer vacation!!! :-)
***This has been such a wonderful year for all 3 boys. I have completely LOVED all of their teachers; they each grew and learned so much! We're already praying for wonderful class and teacher assignments for the fall.
Last Thursday, Fletch and I enjoyed a lazy day at home. We watched a frog climb around on the outside of our front door, played around the house and ate lunch in the backyard. What a beautiful, wonderful, relaxing day!
Holden is now finished with Kindergarten, and Q wraps up second grade this week. It's almost summertime!!!
What a wonderful holiday weekend! We've been happily busy with soccer games, pool time, church, and family fun.
***We are forever thankful for all the service men and women who make it possible to enjoy this weekend and all of the freedoms that we so often take for granted.
Today was a BIG day for our Holden - Kindergarten graduation day! What a bittersweet time! We are so very proud of our big guy; we cannot wait to see what the future holds for him.
After the ceremony, we went to party and picnic at Go Play Outside Now. What a fun way to wrap up such a wonderful year!
I love that the big boys' school is K-12; there are great opportunities for the older kids to interact with the little ones. This year, one of those older kids was a high school junior helper for Holden's kindergarten class. Holden has talked about "big Jacob" all year (not to be confused with "little Jacob" in his class).
Holden thought that big Jacob was super cool and completely awesome. He wanted to make sure that he gave his cool, new buddy an end of the year gift. We decided on an iTunes gift card inside a homemade card.
Look at Holden's sweet card! All the thoughts were completely his! ;)
Fletch and I went to the big boys' school today for the "Art Museum". The kids pick one piece of artwork to display. It's always a neat way to see what they've been working on all year.
Fletch and I first toured the exhibit with Q's class:
Then, we toured again with Holden's class:
*We had a double dose of "culture" today! Ha!
**Note Fletcher's sucker in both pictures? It was to help keep his little hands off the artwork! :-)
One last 2nd grade project for Q, and it's done! Woo hoo!
After choosing an African country, he wrote a 1-page report, made the flag, and drew a map of it. His country choice? Djibouti!
***Yes, Djibouti sounds just like "ja booty"! Any guesses as to why he would choose this particular country? Hahaha!
The Mother's Day gifts that Q came home with last Friday! Can you tell that Q's teacher is also a photographer? I LOVE the picture she took of him; I'll treasure it forever!
I'm a stay-at-home mom of 3 terrific boys (Quinn, Holden and Fletcher). They, along with Brant (my wonderful hubby), are "my boys". The purpose of my blog is to journal and share this adventure of life with all of our family and friends. "This is the day that the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
