1st XC Meet

Today was Quinn's first cross country meet; the runners ran a 2 mile course. He finished #57 out of 70 boys. Considering that he was running against 7th and 8th graders, he was pretty happy with that finish. His new goal is to improve over the season.

***We've been really proud of him. He's trained hard (running 4-5 days a week for almost a month) and had a good attitude about this new sport.

Party Time

Yesterday afternoon was full of energetic, loud, sweaty boys! In other words, it was Fletcher's birthday party at SkyZone. ;)

As you can see, he and his buddies had an absolute blast! Fletcher's 7th birthday has been a fun one! :)

Happy 7th Birthday Fletch!!!

This baby of ours is 7 today! Fletch is fun and fearless! He has yet to find a sport he doesn't like, and baseball's his current love. His dad is his hero and most favorite person on the planet.

As I told his teacher when she asked me to describe him on the first day of school, he's just an easy, go with the flow, let's have a great time kind of kid. He's truly the cherry on top of our crazy, testosterone-filled family of five! :)

Ocracoke Wedding

Brant and Fletch had a little adventure last Friday and Saturday. They traveled to Ocracoke for Josh's (a cousin of Brant's) wedding. It was the first week of school, so we didn't want Holden and Quinn to be absent. Fletcher was happy/lucky to be a 1st grader and allowed to go! ;)

2 super cool things about Ocracoke? Traveling by ferry and the lighthouse. These guys had a blast with family.

Eclipse 2017

The boys had a half day of school, and Brant took the afternoon off . . . all for the Solar Eclipse 2017 event. And, it was awesome!!! It reached 93% totality in Raleigh, and we could see it perfectly from our back deck. What a cool experience!

***I was a bit "crazy" about safety and found a way to make sure no one peeked around the glasses and were blinded by the sun. I cut paper plates and attached the glasses. Yes, we looked nutty . . . but we were completely safe! Ha! Thank goodness for boys would understand my craziness and indulge their mom! ;)
