Over these 2 weeks, we've done all the required snow day activities . . . ate snow cream, went sledding, had a snowball fight and built a snowman. Yep! It's been fun; we've enjoyed our family time. And NOW it's time for spring!!! ;-)

Yet Another Snow Day
We're on Snow Day #6, I believe. Last night's snowfall was only a couple of inches, and it's really just a slushy mess today. But, we're looking on the bright side . . . it was good conditions for building a snowman!

SNOW DAY #2
We were at home again yesterday for another snow (ice) day. The sun was out, and the snow plows had come. But, there was still a little patch of icy road for sledding. The boys and new neighbor friends had over 2 hours of fun in our cul de sac. Where there's a will there's a way! ;-)

Saturday Morning Fun
Last Saturday morning, I did the Krispy Kreme Challenge with Maridith and Charity. They ran the full 5 miles. I did more of "jog a little/walk a little"; I met up with them at the end. ;-)
We were "casual runners". The "competitive runners" had to run 2.5 miles, eat a dozen doughnuts and run the other 2.5 miles to the finish line. I don't think that I need to explain why we made our choice! Ha!
It was actually below FREEZING when we arrived at 7:45, but we braved it and had fun. Yes, we know . . . we're completely nuts! ;-)

While I was freezing and getting doughnuts, the boys were down the street at Q's 8am soccer game. Q hustled and played awesome . . . scoring his first goal of the winter season. Go Quinn!

***Later that afternoon, Q came down with a stomach bug. On Sunday, he developed an ear infection. The 2 were completely unrelated. Poor guy was miserable! He missed school on Monday. But thanks to antibiotics and lots of rest, he was feeling much better yesterday.

SNOW DAY
We had a snow day today! Well, with lots of sleet over night, it was more of an ice day. The icy conditions made for some awesome sledding on the street and driveways. The boys played with new neighbors and had lots of fun; they lasted outside over 3 hours!

The rest of the day was spent watching movies, playing inside, and catching up/getting ahead on school projects.
School's already canceled for tomorrow; here's hoping for a return to normalcy on Thursday!!!

Party, Party, Party
Valentine's Eve (as the boys' call it) was full of school celebrations.
We started with a special lunch for Fletcher's preschool class.

Next was the first grade ice cream party with Holden.

And, we wrapped up the festivities with sugar cookies and treats in Q's classroom.

*Lots of fun . . . and LOTS of sugar!!!
**Because of timing, lucky Fletcher was able to attend all 3 parties. He's on a sugar high right now and will crash soon I'm sure!!!

Recent Happenings
Just a few things I want to document and remember about the boys right now:
Fletcher's new love? Puzzles! And, he's quite good at them.

A small snapshot from Holden's recent progress report:

*Wonderful manners? Yay! Maybe all those years of reminding him to say please, thank you and ma'am have started to pay off! ;-)
**Only areas marked as good instead of excellent? Neat work & handwriting. Not at all a surprise! Not sure if it's a "left-handed thing" or a "Holden thing" but we'll keep working on it!
A little surprise note from Q:

*A few nights ago before bedtime, Brant asked Q to name 3 people that he'd love to have over for dinner, past or present. He quickly answered Scotty McCreery. After thinking for a little bit, he added TJ Warren and Russell Wilson. All 3 with NC State connections? Love it!

We Heart Fletch
Fletcher had a preschool Valentines project; we were asked to decorate a heart to show how much we love our big guy. We found pictures (of just Fletch - he didn't want to share the spotlight with his big bros - ha!) and had everyone write a little something. The result? A sweet heart for our sweet boy!
