Slip N Slide

Happy Memorial Day! We have had a great Memorial weekend at home with friends and family.

Today: The boys were hot and sweaty after a morning at the park. When we got home, we set up the slip n slide to cool off. This was their first time with this classic summer toy. They both LOVED it!

Quinn's Preschool Gift

Quinn's preschool teachers gave him and his classmates the cutest gift this week. Every child received a T-shirt with the faces (drawn by the kids) and names of all of their teachers and classmates. It is adorable . . .

Attached to each shirt was a personalized note. Quinn's read:
"We will miss your excitement and curious heart. You are a wonderful little boy."
I just had to smile because I certainly agree!

End-of-the-year Program

Today was Quinn's last day of 3 year-old preschool. The 2's, 3's, and 4's all participated in an end-of-the-year program. Quinn did a great job . . . singing along and even doing the hand gestures! We were so very proud of him!

This was Quinn at the beginning of the school year . . .

This is a picture from this morning. I think that he looks a little older! *I also think that I really love to dress him in plaid shirts and khaki shorts! ;-)

I love how they walked in with 2 fingers on their lips. I wonder if I can get him to do that around the house? ;-)

Walking on Sunshine

After 4+ days of rain and gloomy skies, the boys and I were so excited to see the sun yesterday. We (really they!) have needed to get outside, run, and wear themselves out. Just a few pictures from last night after dinner . . .

Believe me, this is Quinn's excited face! ;-)

A little fresh air makes everyone happier and easier to live with! ;-)

Lawson's 5th Birthday Party

Quinn and I spent Saturday morning celebrating Lawson's 5th birthday. Holden stayed at home with Brant, and it was really special to get some one-on-one time with my first born. Lawson had a princess party at a real horse farm. The kids all had a blast. Thanks for inviting us, Fitts Family!

Quinn rode "Romeo", who was huge! I was very proud of my brave boy . . .

On the trail (I don't know how many times I said: hold on with 2 hands please!) . . .

The party favors for the boys? FOAM SWORDS! Oh, yes . . . they were a big hit! Quinn even brought one home for his favorite sparring partner, Holden!!!

Phone Pics

I was loading the Cold Stone photos the other night and found these cute pictures of Holden on Brant's phone. Just had to share . . .

Happy Friday!

Cold Stone Celebration

Tonight was Quinn's last night of soccer. They divided the group into 2 teams and had them play a game. It was thoroughly entertaining. One word to describe Quinn's soccer skills . . . HUSTLE! That boy can hustle with full force. He ran the ENTIRE time. He did not seem to care (or even notice) where the ball was, he just ran around with all of his might! Brant and I always joke that he is our future track star. The boy can run!

Because we survived the mini-soccer season with no crying or whining and with full participation and a great attitude, we celebrated with ice cream at Cold Stone . . .

Bball game

Brant and I took the boys to a "bball" (as Holden calls it!) game last night. Quinn's buddy, Aiden, and his daddy, Robin, met us there. Q and Aiden had an absolute BLAST! I don't think that they saw one play of baseball, but they had a lot of fun! ;-)

Can you please tell me who this BIG (and super silly) boy is?

Holden LOVES a baseball hat! You can barely see his eyes . . .

*On the way home, I asked Quinn about his favorite part of the baseball game. He replied, "Playing with Aiden!" ;-)

Yes, A Decade!

Last weekend marked 10 years (yes, a decade!) since my college graduation from this fine institution . . .

I was lucky enough to join lots of lovely ladies over the weekend to celebrate, relax, laugh, and enjoy some quality girl time. What a great time! It was so good to see each of you. Let's not wait another 5 years to do it again!

*Karen - thanks again for allowing me to "steal" some of your pictures!

Public Safety Day

Saturday morning, our town hosted a Public Safety Day at the park. The boys thoroughly enjoyed crawling in and on the firetrucks, ambulances, and rescue boats. It was really a dream come true for my 2 little boys!

*This blog is our scrapbook, and I should probably try to remember some of the little struggles of having little ones. I'm sure that they are nothing compared to what's coming up in future! I'll probably look at this and laugh in 10 years . . .
**Saturday was SO hot and humid! It seemed as the temperatures soared, Quinn's behavior tanked. He is going through a grumpy, "cry at the drop of a hat" stage. I know that it's "just a stage", and I have had some sweet friends to "feel my pain" with their 3 and 4 year olds. But, this particular stage is driving me a little crazy! I did not take any pictures from that part of the outing; let's just focus on the first, happy half for now! ;-)
***He, of course, redeemed himself and was an angel yesterday! Let's say a prayer for today!!!
