While his little brothers were napping yesterday, Q went outside with Brant and shot a BB gun for the first time. He was so excited and thought that it was a super cool "big boy" thing to do.
Today was a great day for our family! I love that we now have our own little Thanksgiving traditions, traditions that I hope the boys will remember when they're all grown up one day. :-)
#1 - An early morning trip for donuts (these 2 are the early risers in our family!)
#2 - Morning trip to the park for the boys to "get their wiggles out"
#3 - Lunch with Mama and Papa Quinn and Mama Carol
#4 - Outdoor Christmas movie with popcorn and hot chocolate (it was MUCH colder than I remember last year's movie night!)
Yesterday was Thanksgiving party day for Holden's Kindergarten class. All 3 classes traveled to a nursing home to visit and perform a little Thanksgiving program. The children were wearing cute turkey hats, and they decided to give them to the residents. Isn't that sweet?
When the kids returned to school (via the bus - exciting times!), they sang their cute Thanksgiving songs for the parents. Then, we "feasted" on nuggets, mac n cheese and fruit. It was a sweet time!
After dropping the big boys off at school (7:40am):
Before picking the big boys up at school (2:45pm):
*He's really a good sport about traveling around and being on his brothers' schedule; I'm very thankful for that! :-)
Last Saturday morning, our small group did a service project (yard work and small home projects for an elderly couple in our church). Brant took Quinn and Fletch, and they had a great time with our sweet church friends!
*Holden and I were at Britain's birthday pumpkin party at the park. :-)
Party Hats:
We're currently in a "going out to eat" round of our monthly supper club, and we spent last Saturday night at Gonza Tacos. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was really fun. Three of us have November birthdays (Kenny, Martin & me); we were serenaded by trumpet players and given birthday party hats. Fun, fun, fun!
Hair Cuts:
Yesterday after church, Mr. Q got a much needed and overdue hair cut; he wanted it "spiky". Isn't he cute?
Now that it's fall and getting cooler (and the snakes and poison ivy are gone), the boys are back to one of their favorite activities . . . hiking and playing in the woods behind our house!
They're really good at staying close, listening for my voice (reminding them to stay close) and being careful while climbing, jumping and playing. They're such "boys", and I love it! :-)
I'm a stay-at-home mom of 3 terrific boys (Quinn, Holden and Fletcher). They, along with Brant (my wonderful hubby), are "my boys". The purpose of my blog is to journal and share this adventure of life with all of our family and friends. "This is the day that the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
